Exams finished! End of Semester 1

So, I postponed commenting last week because I wanted to finish my exams, which happened at 11:30 am this morning!  Human Biology 1:  Anatomy and Physiology, it was a big one.  3 written questions, 3-4 parts per question, it was pretty much like writing 3 essays.  My brain is officially fried.  Writing this message is even daunting.  My brain for today has checked out.  Off to dinner with friends for some well deserved fun and then Byron Bay, NSW, for even more fun with my cousin and friend, Canadian fun times are ahead!  I will be posted some great articles and recipes over the break so keep checking up, thanks for reading 🙂

Article: Chinese herbal medicine for Mild Cognitive Impairment and Age Associated Memory Impairment: a review of randomised controlled trials

Chinese herbal medicine and mild dementis systematic review

Click on the underlined link above to read a  systematic review on Chinese and English randomized-control trials looking to determine if Chinese Herbal Medicine (CHM) can improve mild dementia onset or mild cognitive impairment (MCI).  The herbal lists are included in the tables and its an interesting read about the potential for memory improvement.  Ginkgo Biloba has apparently been excluded, which is a shame because I think it has some major potential and should be studied more in terms of its effects on cognitive abilities.  Hope you enjoy reading this, and just remember:  trying to understand is the first step. The more you read, the easier it will become, and the more knowledge and understanding you will gain!  Be aware and eat with care 🙂

Exam week: Semester 1 is almost officially over

So this week coming up is my exam week.  My first exam is Chemistry and it is on Tuesday.  I have spent the last 1.5-2 weeks preparing for exams now and I must say I am having bouts of cabin fever!  I pretty much just want to get the exams over with so I can enjoy my break, as I have many plans for my free time.  I honestly do not have much else to say but  for you to wish me luck!

Thanks for reading, next weeks blog posting will be the last student blog post until semester 2 starts, a weekly blog about my ventures in break will be posted, this will be a little bit more exciting as you will get to see first hand what I like to do in my off time, woot woot!

Be aware and eat with care 🙂
